SOUTH WEST REGIONAL TRAINING EVENT

22nd & 23rd October 2022

Full Members

The IGTT Event is open to Full Members(i.e. those that have passed the Advanced Motorcycle Test). Group members have been invited to attend a South West Regional Training event on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd October 2022. This is a great opportunity to have some additional post test membership training / development and in the process brush up on your advanced riding skills. DWDAM does encourage continual learning for those who have passed their advanced riding test and this is presents an ideal opportunity to do just that.

Full Member training sessions include:

  • Masters Taster Ride or Refresher
  • Ongoing advanced riding review / skills development
  • Riding with a pillion
  • Slow Speed Handling

The method of training will use the training requests from the attendees to establish the subjects they wish to cover and the IGTT will try to work on one trainer to two attendees, but can occasionally be on a 1-1 basis depending on the numbers booked and the availability of trainers.

Observers

DWDAM Observers are encouraged to attend a South West Regional Training event in October 2022 to broaden skills and explore how other groups deliver training. In addition to training available for members, Observers can benefit from:

  • Local Observer training and assessment (to LOPS completion level and or LOPS signing off if requested)
  • National Observer preparation
  • Observer development
  • Radio training using Bluetooth comms

Where and When

The event is being coordinated by the South West Regional Training Team and will be based for two days at Long Sutton Village Hall, Long Sutton, Near Langport, Somerset TA10 9NT.

Each day will commence at 0830 (initial registration etc) and all delegates will be expected to be clear of the training venue by 1600 daily.

This a popular event, so early booking is essential, but in any case, no later than Thursday 1st September 22. Places can be reserved for either day but attendees are not expected to attend both days.

Membership Training Sessions. All prospective attendees should book direct with Peter Herridge, the event organiser (see details below). When you do, it is requested that you copy DWDAM’s Membership Training Coordinator  so that Brian is aware who will be attending from DWDAM and what training has been requested.

Full members sessions. For non Observer sessions, the attendance cost is £30 per person per day attendance to cover refreshments such as tea / coffee / food which will be provided. Payment (cash) is taken on the day to minimise administration.
